They say that these cats originated in the deep snow-covered taiga from wild forest cats, and in the Middle Ages they guarded monasteries in Siberia. And no wonder - if Maine Coon breeders can trace the history of the breed from the 80s. 19th century, and Norwegian breeders - from the 30s. 20th century, the written history of the Siberian cat appears much later. But in oral tradition, the name "Siberian cat" really has a long history.
