While updating Garmin, it’s quite common to face issues. If you are experiencing an alert notification saying “an expected error has occurred and the program must close”, it signifies there is an issue with the Garmin update. To fix the problem you must download the Garmin communicator plug-in to update the device. You can install it from the Garmin website through Internet Explorer, connect your Garmin to the computer and then download and install the Garmin dashboard program. Once you’ve done it, run the program and it will start updating your Garmin device. Once done, you will be able to update the maps as well.
