The next Nike Foamposite will be hitting retailers in less than two weeks as we bring you new images of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro Tech Fleece.This seems like a release that would have been better suited to drop during the Fall or Winter seasons, but regardless if you like them you can still cop a pair and stash them away until the time is right. Nike has turned the Foamposite Pro into a lifestyle sneaker with this colorway as the traditional foam shell upper has been replaced with a dark grey heathered textile material that is meant to resemble fleece. Black detailing has then been added on the eyestay, tongue, laces, inner liner, heel, and the signature jewel Swoosh on the side panel. An icy blue translucent outsole caps things off. The Kobe series has long been one of my favorite signature lines in the basketball shoe industry. The first pair of basketball shoes that I bought on my own (when I was in middle school) was the Nike Kobe 1, the first signature shoe that Kobe Bryant created with Nike after leaving adidas. After that, I owned the 5s, 6s, 8s, 9s 10s and 11s…so it’s fair to say that I’m usually a fan of Kobe’s latest signature shoe. Because of this fact, the Nike Kobe A.D. was one of the most disappointing basketball shoes that I’ve ever played in.I heard a lot of bad things about the Kobe A.D. before I even got my hands on them, and I tried not to let others’ opinions affect what I thought of the shoe while I weartested it. However, when it comes down to the performance of this shoe, what everyone had been saying was in fact true.The simple way of putting it is that I didn’t enjoy playing in these shoes…ever. The traction was extremely inconsistent, the cushion system was subpar (and also very misleading with the fake Zoom etchings on the back), and the upper was stiff and uncomfortable. The only reasonably decent portion of the shoe was the support, as the stiff upper cradled my foot well and forced my heel into the heel counter. When it comes down to it, I will never wear the Kobe A.D. on the basketball court again.For the price point of $160, there are literally dozens of shoes available that not only outperform the Kobe A.D., but also cost a good deal less. The collection is headlined by the Curry 3 “Brass Band”, which Steph will wear Sunday during the game. The colorway takes inspiration fr om the host city of New Orleans, specifically the jazz and second-line marching bands the Big Easy is known for.Along with the brass-accented Curry 3 Mid, the Curry 3 Low debuts in its first three colorways, nicknamed “122”, “Dark Horse”, and “Full Circle”. In shades of grey and red, the “122” version references Steph’s college days at Davidson, wh ere he made a name for himself by shattering the NCAA’s freshman 3-pointer record by dropping 122 treys. In a Charlotte Hornets color scheme of purple and teal, the “Dark Horse” colorway pays homage to his father Dell Curry, who helped young Steph become the deadly shooter he is today. Finally, the “Full Circle” colorway in a blend of bright red, dark purple, and lime green represents how Steph has come full circle from his first NBA All-Star appearance in 2014 in New Orleans to his second trip to the Big Easy this year—now with two MVP awards and a Championship.All three debut colorways of the Curry 3 Low release this Thursday, February 16th at UA.com, Under Armour Brand Houses and Champs Armoury locations nationwide. Although the Nike Kobe Venomenon isn’t one of the most popular models the Kobe line has to offer, it’s always good to have options, especially when they’s a bit more affordable. When the Nike PG 1 EYBL was first unveiled, it was believed to be a PE that would not be releasing to the public. That no longer appears to be the case since it was just announced that Footlocker will be releasing the Nike PG 1 EYBL on May 13th in-store only at their House of Hoops location in Harlem.For those of you not too familiar with what EYBL colorways are or what EYBL stands for, they’re special colorways of Nike signature models that celebrate Nike’s annual Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL). This year Nike chose to create EYBL versions of the Kyrie 3 and PG 1.The Nike PG 1 EYBL opts for a flashy motif. Although most of the shoe’s base comes in Black, it’s the colorful graphics on the inner bootie incorporating the EYBL cities that really gives the it’s unique pop. Add in the iridescent Nike Swoosh branding, the speckling on the midsole, the GIDT outsole and the additional color on the Zoom bag, and you’ve got yourself a pretty bold PG 1. For those who are closer to Harlem or are willing to make the drive, are you looking to cop? May 13th. $110. Good luck.Update: There’s still a chance that these drop on Nike.com.
