Когда американские селекционеры решили скрестить короткошерстную кошку с персидской — они не подозревали, какой результат их ждет. С одной стороны, в подарок от персов котенок получил мордочку округлой формы, огромные выразительные глаза, курносый нос и толстые лапы. С другой стороны, его тело покрывала нежная плюшевая шерсть, не свойственная ни одной, ни другой породе.

В 1966 году новая порода была официально признана. Она получила название «экзотическая короткошерстная», или просто — экзот. Сегодня этой породе принадлежит четвертое по популярности место в мире.

Секрет в том, что экзоты обладают замечательным мягким и покладистым кошачьим характером. Это нежное, игривое создание, одинаково позитивно настроено к кошкам, собакам и детям. От флегматичных персов экзотов отличает большая любознательность и жизнерадостность.

Наш питомник CrystalSveta занимается разведением чистопородных экзотов и персов колорных и солидных окрасов. В бридинг программе используются производители с кровными линиями Европы и США. Все производители протестированы на поликистоз почек (PKD DNA negative).
