The entire state of Ohio, it seems, is piling on the Golden State Warriors.After the Cleveland Cavaliers erased a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Warriors 109-108 on Christmas Day, The Morning Journal newspaper couldn’t resist calling attention to the fact that this wasn’t the first time Golden State let a big lead against the Cavs slip away.The headline writer had some fun at deadline, writing “Warriors blow 3-1 lead (sorry, muscle memory) 14-point lead in fourth quarter,” an obvious nod to Cleveland beating Golden State in last season’s NBA Finals for its first-ever title.LeBron James himself, unable to find the high road to good sportsmanship, has been setting the example of antagonizing the Warriors, what with the antics at his Halloween party .Certainly, though, Stephen Curry and company are paying attention to all of this and will use the fun being had at their expense as extra motivation when the Dubs and Cavs inevitably meet in the 2017 Finals next June.
After playing just eight minutes in his team's Friday night loss to the Lakers, 76ers big man Nerlens Noel was none too pleased.After the game, Noel told reporters: "I think I'm too good to be playing eight minutes. That's crazy. [We] need to figure this s— out."Philadelphia coach Brett Brown met with Noel on Saturday to iron things out. And according to Noel, he and Brown are “moving forward.”"We had a conversation. He kept it more real with me, so I respect him a little more for that," Noel told reporters (via ESPN.com). "You see some things with more insight, and you handle it how you want to, and just handle it the right way."Friday was Noel’s second game of the season after undergoing knee surgery in October. The lottery pick has the talent to play extended minutes, but with Jahlil Okafor and Joel Embiid both on the roster, Noel hasn’t found a way to stay on the court early in his return."He's highly competitive; he's in a very unusual situation," Brown said. "The fact that it came out as soon as it did caught me off guard. We've discussed it, and I'll be surprised if everybody's not seeing how we all need to handle this better going forward."Now we wait for Sunday to see what role Noel plays when the 76ers host the Nets.

Just a warning — it's healthy and pretty boring.“Before competition for me would be like a chicken breast and maybe a little pasta. The carbs help because you’re going out and playing a lot of minutes,” James told Business Insider. “But a salad and some veggies will have me perfectly fine. And before the game I might have a protein shake and some fruit, and I’ll be ready to go. But as far as pies or pizza and sandwiches and french fries — I can’t. I’ll wait for that after the game. I can’t do that before the game.”The diet appears to be working — as James, who turns 32 this week, looks to be in the best shape of his life.

"I'm just happy that I made them."The Rockets are expected to send him back to their D-league affiliate on Tuesday.

Our huddles are like tombs now," Fizdale said after watching his team be outscored 35-26 in the fourth quarter before losing in overtime.With starting point guard Mike Conley recently returning to the lineup after an early-season back injury, many thought the Grizzlies would be a surprise team in the Western Conference, but things have come unhinged of late.Memphis' backcourt defense was horrendous at times Tuesday, allowing Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas score a career-high 44 points. In the past 50 years, the only Celtics guard to score more points than Thomas did Tuesday is current Celtics general manager Danny Ainge.It's clear Fizdale is trying to spark his team, and in the process find a leader. Time will tell if it works. The Grizzlies have a quick turnaround with a Wednesday night game at Detroit.
